What Happens When A Small-Town Family Visits The "World's Largest"... Whatever!

Where is it? Wednesday

Today’s image is brought to you by Kodak. This was taken back in the day before we had a digital camera. The Boy was just four years old. He’s heading to middle school in seven short months…sniff…don’t get me STARTED!!

Anyway, can you guess where this was taken? It’s a giant strawberry…which is the hint. This is a timely post relating to this fruity theme!Strawberry

ANSWER: We had a few people submit answers, but only Helen from 2 Weeks Paid had the right answer! She gave us a friendly tweet on Twitter.

It’s the world’s largest strawberry festival! The annual Florida Strawberry Festival takes place in Plant City (near Tampa) every March. It’s going on now, which is why I’m posting this today. And because I always like a good excuse to pore over old photos and make myself verklempt…sniff…

Has to be Strawberryland (I realize it’s not a creative name but I wasn’t the one who picked it (no pun intended)). For those in need of a refresher, this is where Strawberry Shortcake lived with her “Berry Best Friends” (again, I did not come up with the name), Angel Cake and Ginger Snap.

If not that, I would have to guess it’s located at some state fair somewhere, location is irrelevant because they are all the same, and you should be admonished for bringing your son on any ride set up by an individaul that is most likely underqualified, possibly toothless, and most certainly unconcerned about your personal safety or that of your son 🙂

Your niece will be super impressed by your comprehensive knowledge of Strawberry Shortcake trivia. Plus, in a few short years, you will taking your own life into your hands on these rides with your kids, and paying big bucks for the privilege!

They grow up fast! (Strawberries & boys both)!

Was this at Knott’s by any chance?

BTW, I have a shot of where the strawberries spend their “retirement years” 🙂 http://roadsidewonders.net/berrygoround/

Wow, love this! I forget how BIG things are in America 🙂

And don’t be sad you don’t have a Starbucks. I have four of them two blocks from my house in BANGKOK, THAILAND – talk about waaaaay too many Starbucks! And no, I never go to any of them 🙂

Thanks for visiting…your blog makes me hungry! I’m not a big fan of Starbucks anyway, but I do like Dunkin’ Donuts. Do you have any of those?
