I spend an inordinate amount of time planning the GBOGH family’s travel, and while I love doing it, I’m always looking for ways to simplify the process! Alamo recently contacted me about its revamped website, and I’m now a fan of its new features, such as the Alamo Deal RetrieverSM tool, and the Alamo Insiders loyalty program. And – woo hoo – Alamo is working with us this week to give away a BIG prize pack to help spread the word!
When Alamo – part of the world’s largest car rental network — re-launched its website, it added the Alamo Deal Retriever system so you can find the best Alamo car rental deal with one click. It searches all valid Alamo deals and coupons on the web to find the best rates to meet your specific needs.
Of course, I tried it out myself. We’re thinking about spending spring break in Myrtle Beach, SC, so I plugged in the dates, and got info on five featured deals, offering either a discount on a set number of days, or a free car upgrade. An additional 10% discount is available if you join the Alamo Insiders program. I think joining (at no cost) is worth it for that perk alone!

I love looking at just one site to see all the deals available for a product/service, so I would definitely check out the “Alamo Deal Retriever.”
I like it, but I looked at Atlanta and it says “College Park” (which is where the airport is). I think that someone who doesn’t know that Hartsfield-Jackson International is in College Park might be a little confused, since none of the options say “Atlanta”.

My family loves road trips as I’m not too keen on flying..We hope to travel to Florida this summer so, this is great..I like the ‘See Your Savings’ feature…it has up-to-the-minute tracking of what I’ll be saving…and by signing up as an Alamo Insider, I’ll save even more..I love it!
Anytime I can save some time by having all the deals presented to me at once instead of randomly searching online for coupon codes, etc., I’m all in! (Great giveaway, btw!)

I think it’s great that for a no-cost membership, you can get an automatic 10% off. That’s like free money! I think the option to upgrade during checkout is cool, too. If you see that you’re under budget and want to add some extra luxury or fun, you don’t have to go all the way back in the process. The Deal Retriever is pretty cute, too 🙂

I just plugged in the dates for a trip to Mexico we are going to take soon and it found a 20% discount coupon I hadn’t found yet. I’m already an Alamo Insiders so “ca-ching!” Loved it!
Nice that you can see the coupons/specials all in one place, but I was hoping it would offer prices on that page so I could see everything in one place. Nice to know it’s there, however, for pricing out my next rental.

Hopped over here after seeing your link on my Airstream Ranch post; Tried out the Deal Retriever and found it easy to use and quick. Like others I searched for Atlanta and found only College Park…Having lived there I knew that was the airport, but most would not…Alamo might want to check for hitches like this…Cool prize package they’re offering here

Good info to remember next time we head south
We just got back from a trip to Denver (notorious for high rental car prices), but we booked a full size minivan through the Alamo website for a much better deal than we found anywhere else.
The pick-up and drop-off experience was great too (in and out no hassles!!!). Alamo will be high on our list next time.
